Heidi Gygax

Heidi Gygax Garland grew up around the gaming industry as the third child of E. Gary Gygax. From a young age, Heidi worked for TSR at Gen Con game conventions, and later full time at TSR in the Gen Con department, at the Dungeon Hobby Shop, and Marketing.
After 30+ years in Hawaii working as an executive for a large jewelry manufacturer and retailer, Heidi and her husband Erik Garland co-founded GAXLAND and collaborated on a number of RPG gaming adventures and Kickstarter projects, including the most recent – a board game – Dragon Derby: The Sport of Wizards.
Additionally, Heidi is the co-founder of EGG CON, an annual Lake Geneva convention held in honor of the late E. Gary Gygax on or about Gary Gygax Day (July 27th). She is also the co-founder of the E. Gary Gygax Memorial Scholarship which is funded mainly through the charity auction at EGG CON each July, benefiting aspiring high school artists and writers.

Erik Garland
Co-owner, Author and Cartographer
Erik Garland is a professional firearms instructor and retired healthcare CIO. A lifelong enthusiast of comics, fantasy, science fiction, and Tabletop RPGs, he played his first game of Dungeons and Dragons in the fall of 1979 after receiving the Holmes Basic Set. He attended his first gaming convention in Visalia, CA in 1985.
Erik started writing as a career alongside Heidi Gygax in 2023 and is the co-founder of GAXLAND. To date, Erik has been part of 5 successful Kickstarter projects and co-authored 9 original game adventures including one with legendary game designer, Christopher Clark. Erik and Heidi also did all of the editing, design and layout for the late Jim Ward's Lost Tomb of Doom published by Angry Dwarf Games. Erik and Heidi’s most recent release is the board game Dragon Derby: The Sport of Wizards.
Additionally, Erik is the co-founder of EGG CON, an annual Lake Geneva convention held in honor of the late E. Gary Gygax and he is the co-founder of the E. Gary Gygax Memorial Scholarship.
He resides in Lake Geneva, WI with his lovely wife Heidi and their daughters, Amelie and Zoe. Dogs Thor, Hades and Mittens the cat also figure prominently into his days.
